Manuscripts include a December 1812 poem "Advice to a raven in Russia" about Napoleon; notes about changes to be made in "Columbiad"; notes about financial matters which may be part of a draft petition for payment, and notes about the French funeral of John Paul Jones. Letters, 1792-1811, to Slyvanus Bourne, James Monroe and [James?] Watson discuss the gifts of "McFingal and Colmbiad," suggests the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Columbus Day, requests the publication of a review of "Advice to the privileged orders," and notes that he will transmit a letter to the Secretary of State but has no authority in the unnamed case. There is also an engraving of Barlow and a signed receipt to the Library Company of Philadelphia for books borrowed.
